Reader meets evil ghost Ben Harkins

Following last month’s appeal for readers to share their experiences at Stourgate Moor House, one reader has come forward with an account relating to the “Ben Harkins” claim made in our feature on the site.

Denise Pilbeam, of Stourgate, contacted the Bugle to say she said the name “Ben Harkins” three times while visiting the site, and that a man named Ben Harkins duly appeared.

Asked whether she knew Mr Harkins beforehand, Mrs Pilbeam said she did not. “I knew three or four Ben Harkinses before,” she said. “But it was none of them.”

Asked how she knew the man who appeared was in fact called Ben Harkins, she said, “He had a t-shirt with Ben Harkins on it.”
