Supporters Club Launches Competition To Win 'We Hate Helman' Flags

The Stourgate Town Supporters Club is running a competition this week to give away a limited run of “We Hate Helman” flags, with the prize draw sponsored by Dunton Motorhomes.

Club spokesperson Trevor Ansell said the timing had prompted some questions from members. “We are very saddened by his death, obviously. But we had these made last month, before any of that happened, and there’s a fair few boxes of them still sat in the clubhouse storeroom. He’d have wanted us to continue, we reckon. Waste not, want not.”

To enter, supporters are asked to answer one question. This week’s question is: how many away goals did Steve Helman score against Stourgate Town in his career. Before he died. Entries can be dropped into the box behind the clubhouse bar or posted to the usual address.

Ten flags will be given away, with winners announced at the next home game. Dunton Motorhomes is providing the prize draw drum, on loan from its showroom.
